convierte savia en carbón, canto en astillas mudas;

Title: The Clock of the Eternal Eyelids
On the cortex of your brow, time itself takes shelter,
a curved glass that breathes and no longer forgives.
Your green eyes guard the final trace of green,
two bright stars gazing at what the world abandons.
Above, the impossible meadow still blooms:
drunken butterflies write their testament in the air,
a river of mercury licks the roots of forgetting,
and the wind carries names no one will ever say again.
Below, the sand devours what once was a garden,
turns sap into coal, song into mute splinters;
split trunks like the bones of broken promises,
rusted barrels that once stored the last light.
Your skin is parchment where summer went out,
deep furrows the winter engraved with cruel patience.
Each wrinkle remembers a kiss that never reached the night,
a child who ran and no longer knows how to return to himself.
And yet, old man of unfathomable pupils,
you hold between your temples the suspended miracle:
while the last butterfly agonizes against the glass,
something in you remains, stubbornly, a lived dawn.
